•HISTORY : The coal first formed over 300 million years ago from plants and trees in the late Paleozoic era.
•It was during England’s Victorian Period that the coal was mined. The mines operated during the 19th Century until closure in the 20th.
•I have searched for and hand collected this now very *rare* relic rock from remote landscapes and streams in the County Durham area, north east England, where collieries that were part of the world renowned Great Northern Coalfield once stood
•The Great Northern was considered to have the best, richest, and highest quality jet mineral coal in Britain, so much so King’s and Queen’s had it sent to their Castle’s
•CRAFTING PROCESS : The coal rock has been hand cut, hand polished and lovingly hand glazed. It has thenbeen hand cast and set with time and care to create a one of a kind pair of cufflinks

I am the proud grt grt and grt grand daughter of Coal & Stone mining men – my maternal ancestors worked the seams of the Great Northern Durham Coalfields; because of my own heritage all my jewellery is hand crafted with much love and deep care even more so
